It wouldn’t be MWUX without some exciting social events lined up. We’ve selected some of Louisville’s best hot spots as our venues and can’t wait to mix and mingle. Don’t miss out on the fun and make sure you hit up all the events!
The opening party is Thursday evening, October 20th, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
8UP will be serving up some delicious apps and cocktails on the corner of 4th Street at the top of the Hilton Garden Inn for our opening night party. Enjoy a beautiful rooftop view of downtown Louisville while you socialize with friends and colleagues, meet new folks and mingle with the MWUX team. Light appetizers will be provided, but we suggest reservations for the restaurant if you’d like to eat a full dinner.
Please show your conference badge for entry, or some form of ID so we can confirm you’re registered. Two drink tickets will be provided to conference attendees.
Parking is available in the Hilton Garden Inn attached garage and at the 5th street garage for a fee. Street parking is free downtown after 6pm.

The Happy Hour & Game Night is Friday evening, October 21st, from 6:30pm to 10:00pm.
Join us at Patrick O’Shea’s along historic Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. We’ll have two floors reserved: one floor will be serving alcohol, have a photo booth and Veer Pong brought by the Nerdery, while the other floor will have board games, a discussion area for talking about UX topics including research methods, fostering collaboration, user experience tools, and design trends, and a place to doodle! Come play some games, have some good conversation, and make a few new friends!
Please enter through the restaurant and follow the signage to the 2nd floor where we will check you in. Again, please bring your conference badge or an ID. Food can be purchased in the downstairs restaurant. We will be providing some appetizers such as small sandwiches. Two drink tickets will be provided to conference attendees.
Be aware there is a basketball scrimmage game at the Yum! Center this night so street parking will be hard to come by! There is plenty above-ground and garage parking available nearby for a fee (usually around $10-$15 when a stadium event is happening).
Our Closing Party will be held at Mercury Ballroom immediately following our final keynote on Saturday, October 21 and ending at 10pm. Join us in celebrating a successful three days of learning and networking with drinks, southern-inspired hors d’oeuvres, and the Bluegrass sounds of local band The Company Sons. The band will play from 7-9pm, the rest of the music played during the evening will be a mix of local Louisville or Kentucky-based indie rock.
Conference attendees will get 2 drink tickets that can be used for 1 premium cocktail, beer or wine, or 2 well cocktails, domestic beer or wine.
